The Nye Neighborhood Association (NNA) is scheduling monthly meetings on the first Thursday of every month, from 5:30-7:00 pm, in the lobby of the Performing Arts Center, Newport, OR. Zoom access to meetings will be available. Meetings may include a social half hour prior to NNA business (5:00-5:30 pm), invited guests and speakers with information regarding Nye Beach issues, specific NNA Board business, and all other NNA old and new business, activities, and discussions. Links to the agenda and minutes of the previous meeting will be provided when available.

NNA Meeting & Social Gathering
June 6, 2024 @ 5:30 pm - 7:15 pm
The Nye Neighborhood Association (NNA) will be holding a business meeting and Social Gathering on Thursday, June 6 beginning at 5:30 at the PAC. All are invited for the business part of the meeting or to join us at 6:15 for social time.
Business – We will be updated on our financial standing by Tom Ettel, Treasurer. There are three proposals for Board approval:
1. The Arts and Landscape Workgroup will update us on their plans to beautify the neighborhood and will have a proposal for using the $2500 allocated to this group and possibly additional funds.
2. NNA President Jan Kaplan and Alex Llumiquinga, Arcoiris Cultural Program Manager will present a proposal for NNA to provide $1,000 in operational funds for the MesoAmerican garden at the Library to assist in funding this project. Kaplan approached Arcoiris about providing this support for our Latinex neighbors,
3. The Board will also consider joining the Newport Chamber of Commerce as a non-profit member.
Social Time- Immediately following the business meeting, there will be a Social Gathering from 6:15- 7:15. Wine, beer and soft drinks will be served along with an assortment of light snacks. The Visual Arts Center (VAC) Director,Chasse Davidson, will tell us about a very exciting Mural project proposed for the VAC and there will be ample time for neighbors to get to know each other.
